Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Legal Executive

Overview

A well-established, multi-branch law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive (2–6 years’ PQE or equivalent) to join its growing team in Leeds City Centre. The firm handles a broad range of multi-track claimant clinical negligence matters, including both high-value complex cases and more straightforward claims.

Working within a supportive department, the successful candidate will initially assist senior team members while building their own caseload. Typical caseload volumes remain manageable with paralegal and secretarial support available as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of claimant clinical negligence files.
• Handle matters from initial client instruction through to conclusion and archiving.
• Provide clear, sensitive, and accurate legal advice to clients.
• Instruct counsel and expert witnesses where appropriate.
• Prepare, review, and organise file documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge and technical skills.
• Contribute to business development and help enhance the team’s profile.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong critical thinking and analytical ability.
• Ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and client-friendly.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Confident, empathetic client communication.
• Competent keyboard and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent with a current practising certificate.

Experience

• 2–6 years’ experience handling claimant clinical negligence cases (predominantly or exclusively).
