Family Solicitor (NQ–3 Years’ PQE)

A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm in Nottingham is seeking a Family Solicitor to join its growing Family Law team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior family lawyer to develop their career within a supportive and experienced department, working on a varied caseload of private family matters.
The Role
You will advise clients on a broad range of family law matters, managing files from initial instruction through to conclusion, with appropriate supervision and mentoring depending on experience.
The caseload is likely to include:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children matters
- Cohabitation disputes
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
You will be client-facing, expected to provide clear, empathetic, and pragmatic advice while maintaining high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a family law caseload appropriate to level of experience
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Attending client meetings and court hearings
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and senior lawyers
- Meeting billing targets and managing time effectively
- Using case management and IT systems efficiently
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
- NQ–3 years’ PQE with experience in family law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A client-focused, empathetic approach
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with supervision, and as part of a team
- Confident IT skills and willingness to use case management systems
Additional Information
- Knowledge of relevant family law procedures and court processes is required
- Candidates must work in accordance with SRA Principles and professional standards
- Satisfactory references and standard pre-employment checks will be required
