Overview
A well-established, nationally respected law firm with a strong presence across the UK is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its Planning team based in the Midlands. The team is involved in complex infrastructure, regeneration, and residential development projects and offers an excellent platform for career development within the planning law sector.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a newly qualified solicitor with a passion for planning law and an interest in the broader real estate and infrastructure sectors. You will work closely with experienced partners and legal directors on a wide range of matters for public and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on planning applications, appeals, and judicial reviews
- Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements and related infrastructure documentation
- Advising on regulations and environmental matters
- Supporting on compulsory purchase and development consent matters
- Conducting legal research and preparing reports or briefings
- Assisting with client development and marketing initiatives
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- UK-qualified solicitor (0–1 PQE)
- Experience in or exposure to planning law during training
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research abilities and attention to detail
- Proactive, client-facing, and commercially aware
Desirable:
- Seat in planning or real estate
- Knowledge of infrastructure or environmental law
- Confidence handling complex legal documentation
