Private Client Fee Earner (Wills & Probate)

A well-established regional law firm in Derbyshire is seeking a Private Client Fee Earner (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to join its Wills and Probate team.

This role is suitable for a newly qualified lawyer looking to build strong foundations in private client work, as well as more experienced practitioners seeking a stable, supportive environment with high-quality work.

The Role

You will work on a varied caseload of private client matters, including:

• Wills
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection work

Depending on experience, you will manage matters independently or with appropriate supervision. Responsibilities include client meetings, drafting legal documents, research, correspondence, and progressing files efficiently while meeting agreed billing targets.

You will also contribute to:

• Building trusted, long-term client relationships
• Maintaining the firm’s strong reputation in the local community
• Supporting marketing, networking, and training initiatives
• Supervising junior or support staff where appropriate to your level

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (newly qualified upwards)
• Exposure to private client work is essential
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident IT skills and willingness to use case management systems
• A professional, empathetic, and client-focused approach

Additional Information

• Knowledge of AML and GDPR requirements is required
• Candidates must work in line with regulatory and professional standards
• Satisfactory DBS, credit, reference, and ID checks will be required
