Solicitor / CILEx Lawyer – Personal Injury (Military Claims)

The Opportunity
A leading practice is seeking an experienced Associate-level Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer to join its specialist Personal Injury team. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile and politically sensitive military claims, supporting service personnel, veterans, and their families.

About the Role
You will manage a caseload of complex military personal injury matters, including:

• Defective equipment
• Training injuries
• Cold injuries
• Assaults, bullying and harassment
• Discrimination
• Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) claims
• Noise-induced hearing loss claims

Experience Required

• 3–5 years PQE (applications from more senior candidates will be considered)
• Experience of high-value and complex litigation in County Court, High Court, and Tribunal Services
• Knowledge of military claims and the Service Complaints System
• Ability to build business connections and contribute to business development
• A genuine passion for supporting service personnel and veterans

Key Responsibilities

• Running a caseload with limited supervision
• Handling all case stages, from instruction through to resolution
• Preparing and managing case documentation
• Billing files and handling financial matters appropriately
• Managing client enquiries and providing excellent client care
• Supporting colleagues within the wider PI team as required

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Organised, methodical, and detail-focused
• Ability to analyse complex evidence and offer practical solutions
• Strong IT proficiency and communication skills
